Legitimately one of the best meals i’ve had in my entire life!! The chicken and dumplings on special were TO DIE FOR! The flavor was outstanding. Along with the hush puppies, absolutely delicious. The lady at the window was very kind and the service was prompt. Will 100% be back!!
If you haven’t been to Gumbo To Geaux, you’re missing out! Y’all, these folks know what they’re doing! Being from Louisiana, we took one bite of the fried shrimp and we knew we were home. All of the food we had was incredible and made with Louisiana love and the owners are just as authentic! Geaux get you some! You will NOT be disappointed!!!
I ordered a whole strawberry crunch cake for Easter, and it was a huge hit! Perfectly made, and definitely enough for a crowd. I highly recommend the food here. Especially that cake!
They had a fried chicken leg special today that came with dirty rice - it was all excellent! My daughter got a gator bites basket and my husband got a shrimp basket. They both said that their food was good as well! We used the drive-thru, so I can't comment on dining inside. I see some other reviewers saying that its expensive. Watch their Facebook page for their specials. My fried chicken meal was only 10.
Alton NEEDED their presence and their amazing food. The traditional gumbo, cornbread, red beans and rice, unicorn cookies, and strawberry crunch cake pictured were so amazing I wished I would have bought more. The food here TASTES like it was made with love and experience! They have daily specials and are always bringing new food to their customers! Ordering is easy, the food comes out quickly, the prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the ownership is amazing, I cannot say enough good things! Try them out, I promise you will not regret it.
When they say big things comes in small packages, this is just that. The place was small but food was great tasty and made from scratch. In addition to that, Xenna has excellent customer service and made me and my husband feel so happy and appreciated!!! You don’t get that every where so I definitely value it when I experience it. Thank you so much!!!!!
I can't say enough about this fantastic restaurant. They bring authentic cajun cooking, quality ingredients, fast and friendly service, and more to the table. I'm pretty sure the chefs put love in everything they make and the owners really take pride in their work. They understand that feeding the community is an important job and they give it their all. I've tried a lot of things on the menu and never had something I didn't like - everything has dimension and layers of flavor. Everything is seasoned to perfection.
The woman who took our order was so friendly. Before we ordered, she told us someone earlier ate their food and made another order to go because they like it so much. After finishing our food, we totally understood. Great gumbo and jambalaya! We live 50 minutes away, but will definitely be back!
